Health & Safety Protocol in the Covid-19 era

OUR COMMITMENT

World of Seashells has implemented strict hygiene policies and protocols in accordance with recommendations from the below organisations.

To ensure strict hygiene and cleanliness standards, World of Seashells is undertaking the Feel Safe label certification. Feel Safe is a label developed by Laboratoire International de Bio Analyse (LIBA) that verifies that the measures implemented in relation to hygiene, disinfection and safety practices are in conformity with the quality systems and procedures in place and in line with local and international standards as recommended by recognised institutions.

These safety measures apply to our employees, customers and partners and it is important that we respect all sanitary procedures to uphold our clean and safe environment. This guide will help you visit the Seashells gallery without any apprehension.

Feel Safe label - Health and Hygiene

​EMPLOYEES AWARENESS AND ENGAGEMENT

​

  • Our team members are regularly trained on Safety Measures in accordance with recommendations from National and International Health organisations.

  • We ensure strict respect of all sanitary and hygiene protocols for cleaning and sanitisation of offices, workstations and all other touchpoints.

  • Regular Medical Check-ups of our team members are conducted; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and sanitary supplies are provided.

  • Well-defined protocols will be followed in case of fever symptoms at workplace.

COMMUNICATION

  • All relevant information on our activities shall be communicated to you. 

  • You can also consult our online platforms: Website, Facebook and Instagram page to remain updated.

BOOKINGS

We strongly recommend pre-bookings through our website here, Email, direct phone (+230 623 7984) and our partner Island Rez (+230 202 6660). E-Vouchers and E-tickets will be accepted. 

  • We shall avoid handing printed tickets to customers.

  • In case Entrance Tickets are required, proper hand sanitisation will be done prior handing tickets to visitors.

ENTRANCE

  • Welcoming will respect social distancing norms.

  • A briefing on our sanitary measures will be done prior start of the visit; posters will be put up for further reference.

  • A maximum of 5 visitors will be allowed inside at a time, with 5 mins interval for each group.

  • Your temperature will be checked prior to entering.

  • A mask will be mandatory; should visitors not have one, it will be available for sale at our shop.  

  • Sanitary gel will be provided upon entrance, in retail shop and during payments.

GROUPS AND EDUCATIONAL TOURS

  • Briefings on safety measures will be conducted outside the gallery prior to the start of the visit. 

  • Please maintain social distancing  of at least 1 metre during the visit.

  • Follow instructions and floor markings where indicated.

VISITING ZONES 1 - 5

Discover civilizations of different parts of the world at various periods of time.

  • All presentation materials are wiped before and after each use by our team.

  • Swabs and hand sanitizers will be at your disposal when required.

  • QR Codes are available on each leaflet enabling you to read all information on your mobile.

  • Tablet in geometry section is properly cleaned by our team before and after use.

  • Buttons on Interactive Shell Anatomy presentation are cleaned by our team before and after use.

  • All the shell furniture is regularly cleaned by our team. We advise to avoid unnecessary touching of the glass panes.

RETAIL CORNER

An array of souvenirs, jewelry, and decorative items are available in our retail corner. 

  • It is advised to only touch the products that you are considering buying. 

  • Please seek our team’s assistance before trying on jewelry, clothing, and hats.

  • Shelves and exposed products are cleaned and disinfected regularly by our team

  • A reasonable quantity of products is displayed on shelves to prevent frequent manipulation; please seek our team’s assistance for more variety.

SETTLEMENT

  • We encourage credit card and contactless payment. 

  • We avoid handing printed receipts; it will be as per your request either destroyed and thrown in closed bin or should you request for it, be handed to you while providing hand sanitizer.

  • Credit Card Machines will be disinfected before and after use by our team

  • Hand sanitizer use is recommended before and after any payment

  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth during cash handling and we suggest hand washing after all cash transactions.

 

COMMON AREAS

  • Washrooms are cleaned and disinfected frequently as per new hygiene norms. 

  • Maintain social distancing if waiting in the queue for washroom toilets (maximum capacity of 2 persons at a time)

  • Bins will be readily available; please use them for disposal of used tissues and other waste.

GUEST SATISFACTION

  • Sanitized pens are provided for use.

​Our main preoccupation is your safety and our employees’ welfare. We strongly advise to follow all above protocols. WORLD OF SEASHELLS reserves the right to refuse access to anyone presenting COVID-19 symptoms. Our Factsheet guidelines are non-exhaustive and shall be revised accordingly with reference to any additional updates from recommended health organisations.
